Advanced Diver

This course can be taken after completing the PADI Open Water Diver certification. It's titled PADI Advanced Open Water Diver because it advances your diving knowledge & skills.

You don’t have to be “advanced” to take it – it’s designed to advance your diving, so you can start right after earning your PADI Open Water Diver certification. The course helps build confidence and expand your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives. You try out different specialties while gaining experience under the supervision of your PADI Instructor. You log dives and develop capabilities as you find new ways to have fun scuba diving.

With a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification, you will be able to:

 

  • Dive in open water up to 40 m depth

  • Build your confidence as a diver

  • Expand scuba diving skills

  • Experience 5 Adventure Dives (deep diver, underwater navigation, peak buoyancy, night dive and drift dive)

  • Get credit towards PADI Speciality Diver Courses

COURSE OUTLINE

Step 1

Theory e-learning

You will first complete the theory section of the course via e-learning using materials provided by PADI. These materials include vital information on the Adventure Dives. A test is to be completed at the end of the e-learning and a passing grade is required for you to proceed to the next step.

Step 2

Weekend Trip

You will travel up to your selected destination for a weekend trip (3D2N) to complete your Advanced Open Water Diver course. During this trip, you will complete 5-6 open water adventure scuba dives. You can then expect to receive your PADI electronic Advanced Open Water Diver license card within a day.

ADVANCED OPEN WATER COURSE 

Pre-requisites

  • Be a certified PADI Open Water Diver

  • Be at least 12 years old for PADI Junior Open Water Divers

  • Existing Adventure Divers only need to complete two more Adventure Dives to earn this certification

Excludes

  • Live on board option (additional $60)

  • Marine park fee (RM30)

  • Dive insurance
